When Future by Design screened at the Maui Film Festival last June, the Starz Movie Channel (a sponsor of the Festival) shot director William Gazecki for a promo piece for their channel. The piece has been airing on Starz over the last few months, and we have it posted on William's YouTube page for all to see. Take a look!

We belatedly found out this week that Future by Design screened at the Rwanda Film Festival in March of this year in Kigali, the capital and largest city of Rwanda. The Rwanda Cinema Centre is an amazing and inspirational organization, and we are extremely proud to have been honored by acceptance into their 3rd annual festival. We are told by Nicole Kalisa that, "Future by Design was very much liked by the folks in Kigali. Indeed your film with wonderful packaging made an impact at the 2007 Rwanda Film Festival." Thank you to Nicole and to all the good people at the Cinema Centre.

Jacque Interviewed by Marshall Masters

Marshall Masters at YowUsa.com has posted a GREAT interview with Jacque on his website. The link to stream the interview for FREE is below. Here is the intro written by Marshall, who did a terrific job with the interview!

When we think of a Star Trek future, we see a peaceful, unified Earth where money is no longer used in what will become a resource-based economy. However, getting from here to the 23rd century will be a bumpy and painful ride, as the storyline goes. It stems from a fictional vision of the future conceived by creative minds in Hollywood, which have inspired generations of young minds to pursue careers in science. Inspired by this hopeful message for the future, they have invented and continue to invent the technological marvels we now take for granted.

So who inspires those like Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica animator Doug Drexler, who have inspired our brightest young minds? One such source of inspiration is futurist Jacque Fresco.

Decades before the Star Trek pilot aired, he began working to plant the intellectual seeds of a resource-based economy to end all war and suffering for future generations. This will be very familiar to those inspired by the possibility of a Star Trek future, but with one notable difference. Jacque’s vision goes where no Star Trek storyline could ever go. It goes to a nuts-and-bolts road map of human engineering required to make it happen. His latest film, Future by Design, by the award-winning filmmaker, William Gazecki is one such road map.

THANK YOU, ATLANTA!

I'm back in LA now after a fantastic experience at the Atlanta Film Festival. Here is a picture of festival director, Jake Jacobson meeting Jacque Fresco for the first time -- and another picture taken during our q&a session, right after our Premiere.

I'd like to thank Jake for accepting Future by Design into the festival, and for his graciousness in taking the time to attend our reception after the film. Thanks also to Lorna Wilson and Mike Malloy for their special attention and kindness. And a BIG thanks also to Blake, the projectionist at our venue, GSU Speaker's Auditorium, who did a superb job making sure the film looked great on screen.

I met many wonderful and interesting people during my stay in Atlanta. To top it all off, my wife and I had the distinct pleasure of sitting next to actor Johnny Chavez on the plane home to LA (Johnny played Walter, Carlos' dad, in the awesome film that opened the festival, Quinceanera). We talked about filmmaking, acting, and our unforgettable experiences at the Atlanta Film Festival.

I hope you will keep up with the progress of Future by Design by visiting our website and joining our email updates list.

Thanks for everything!
William Gazecki

WORLD PREMIERE at Atlanta Film Festival

I am thrilled to be premiering my latest documentary film, Future by Design, at the Atlanta Film Festival.

On Saturday, June 10, Jacque Fresco and I will be at our 2:15 p.m. screening for a Q&A after the film -- and to meet all of you who are coming to watch it!

My first film, Waco: The Rules of Engagement, won the Audience Choice Award at the Atlanta Film Festival back in 1997, so I have high hopes for this premiere!

I hope you'll check out our movie website: www.futurebydesignthemovie.com

See you in Atlanta!
